It was a cold morning here in New Jersey.

Overnight, the temperatures dropped below freezing. But not by much. This created an alien-looking landscape in the local streams. After relying on my “camera on auto” setting, I switched my camera to manual, put on my gloves, and explored the local scenery. The thin layers of ice that formed were fascinating to photograph. The key was not stepping too close, crouching, and zooming in. It was a nice photo meditation and a bit of exercise before coffee.
